Sizzle Shot
By Corey Nelson
It’s the sizzle, the pop, the silky goodness and that’s what we want to see - everything looks cooler in slow motion, right? This is a slow motion video that captures what can seem like an uneventful step in the cooking process yet if you zoom in slow it down, that’s where the magic happens. Don’t overthink it. Keep the shot very simple. A video showcasing your sizzle can connect the dots, build your brand, and create a community! Filming a video is a lot easier than it looks: here’s some video basics and a pro tip to get you started!
Set Your Station
Format: This is a slow motion vertical video capturing a sizzle shot that is 8-10 seconds long. It should be posted to Facebook, Instagram Reels and Tik Tok.
Location: For this video lighting is very important. Pick the most well lit area in the kitchen to film this video in.
Cleanliness: Before you start filming, how clean is your station? Remember you are showing your kitchen to the world. When’s the last time you cleaned the flat top? Is that a clean pan? Small things like this go a long way!
Positioning: Filming a video of the slow motion sizzle shot works best when you are anywhere from six inches to a foot away from the sizzle. This will help capture the perfect tight shot. Utilize the slow motion setting in your phone and keep your phone steady for the best results!
Presentation: When filming the sizzle, capture the presentation side. People wanna see the best parts of the ingredient.
Sound: No sound capture is preferred on this clip, either record with no sound or mute the sound before uploading.

Hopefully these tips can set you on your way as you continue to create more content to connect with your audience. Remember people love to see that behind the scenes look that allows them to feel like they are right there in the kitchen with you. As you keep making content, remember to focus more time on capturing the raw and real moments you face on a day-to-day basis and less time on creating that perfect piece of content. Now go and post your Sizzle video to Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and tag us @bestservedpodcast. We’ll amplify it.
